Karen Scheel Holley, Psy.D.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

I help adults and teens learn to manage their anxiety so they can live the lives they want.

Do you feel like your worrying has gotten out of control and you might never get a good night’s sleep again? Or maybe you dread going to work or school because you might have to speak in front of your coworkers or classmates. Are you feeling more isolated during the pandemic and the more you stay home the harder it is to leave the house? Perhaps you have had a few (or more than a few) panic attacks and now you’re starting to avoid certain situations because you’re not sure if you will be able to cope with another panic attack.

Experiencing some anxiety is a natural, and even necessary, part of life. It can serve as a motivator and help us to prepare for that important presentation, big exam or job interview. It can help us to react quickly to emergencies. But sometimes anxiety can become too intense and overwhelming. If anxiety has started to limit your life or consume your thoughts, it’s important for you to know that you don’t have to suffer with it alone.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. In my practice, I specialize in treatment of anxiety and related disorders in adults and teens. In therapy, I help people better understand their anxiety and how it works and to learn new ways of working with it so they can lead fuller and freer lives.

You can reclaim your life and move forward with confidence, knowing that you have skills you can use whenever you need them. I welcome you to read more about my approach to therapy and contact me with questions or to schedule an initial phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit.

I offer both telehealth (video) sessions using a HIPAA compliant online service and in-person sessions in West Hartford office.
